A little bit about me…

With deep awe and reverence for God’ beautiful creation, I see everyday objects as elevated works of art. My eye lingers where most people glance, finding stories in the quiet details that often slip past unnoticed. When I lift my camera, my mind is already composing—instinctively framing the moment that moved me, the one that flickered by but stayed suspended in my memory long enough for a single, decisive click of the shutter.

My muse reveals itself in many forms: a drop of crystal dew clinging to the lip of a fern, the haunting gaze of a gentleman standing near the terminus of life, the glossy peaks of meringue atop an unctuous pie. These small, exquisite moments remind me to breathe. They are beauty to me—humble, arresting, and profound.

Through my photography, I aim to honor these fleeting wonders, inviting others to pause, look closer, and feel the quiet magic woven into the world around us.

I am a photographer formerly based in Austin, Texas—a city whose color and creative energy have shaped the vocabulary of my work. My story traces back to Vietnam, where I was born before my family escaped Saigon on the brink of collapse. I grew up in Northern Virginia just outside Washington, D.C., and later found a different kind of horizon in Southern California while studying at Pepperdine University. Each place has carved its influence into my perspective, but Austin is where my visual language truly evolved.

I’ve recently returned to Northern Virginia, settling into the gentle charm of historic Leesburg. As I reacquaint myself with this beautiful region, I’ll be exploring its quiet corners with my camera, capturing its character and sharing those discoveries with you.

My past work with musicians has been featured internationally in Billboard and Univision, and locally in NPR, Austin Monthly, KUTX, and the Austin American-Statesman, which has showcased my food photography (of my own recipes!) on more than one occasion. My images have also appeared on record albums and been featured by national food labels such as Annie’s Homegrown, Marley Spoon, Vega, and My Crafty Counter . Over the past decade, I’ve photographed Grammy Award–winning artists, local entrepreneurs, non-profits, Austin’s uniquely vibrant events, and countless families. I remain deeply grateful to every person and organization who has trusted me to document their stories

When I’m not behind the lens, my curiosity leads me from one new skill to the next. One day, I hope to travel the world with my camera—strolling through markets where locals buy their daily bread, watching laundry dance above medieval Tuscan streets, breathing in the quiet majesty of Norway’s fjords, tasting cheese made high in the seter, savoring Coquilles St. Jacques in Nice, sailing the bright islands of Greece, and drifting through the serene cafés of Seoul.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and spend a moment here. I hope you find some beauty on these pages.

Many Blessings,

Cecile
