A little bit about me…
With deep awe for God’s beautiful handiwork all around me, I see people and everyday objects as elevated works of art. My eye lingers where most people’s move on, finding stories in quiet details that often slip past unnoticed until the decisive click of the shutter freezes them in time. My mind is always composing—instinctively framing the moments passing by.
Small, exquisite moments inspire me — a drop of crystal dew clinging to the lip of a fern, the haunting gaze of a gentleman whose thoughts seem to drift far behind the present, or glossy peaks of meringue atop an unctuous pie. Beautiful. Arresting. Delicious.
Through my photos, I invite you to look closer to see the quiet magic that exists in our often mundane lives.
I am a photographer formerly based in Austin, Texas—a city whose color and creative energy have shaped the vocabulary of my work. My story traces back to Vietnam, where I was born before my family escaped Saigon on the brink of collapse. I grew up in Northern Virginia, then later chased beautiful Malibu sunsets while completing my undergrad at Pepperdine University. Each place has carved its influence into me, but Austin is where my visual language truly evolved.
I’ve recently returned home to Northern Virginia, settling into the gentle charm of historic Leesburg. As I reacquaint myself with this beautiful region, I’ll be exploring its quiet corners with my camera, capturing its character and sharing those discoveries with you.
My photographs have been featured internationally by Billboard and Univision, and locally by NPR, Austin Monthly, KUTX, and the Austin American-Statesman, which showcased my food photography (of my own recipes!) on more than one occasion. My work has also appeared on record albums and been featured by national food labels such as Annie’s Homegrown, Vega, and others . Over the past decade, I’ve photographed Grammy Award–winning artists, dancers, Austin’s uniquely vibrant events, and countless families. I remain deeply grateful to every person and organization who has trusted me to document their stories.
When I’m not behind the lens, my curiosity leads me from learning one new skill to the next. One day, I hope to travel the world with my camera—visiting boulangeries where locals pick up their daily baguettes, watching colorful laundry dance on clotheslines above medieval Tuscan passaggios, breathing in the quiet majesty of Norway’s fjords, sailing the bright islands of Greece, and tasting my way through the aesthetic cafés of Seoul.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and spend a moment here. I hope you find some beauty on these pages.
With love,
Cecile
